Magic"not-so"Shiney

I just found out that our supplier, Geomangear, temporarily has stopped selling Magicshine lightsets due to concerns regarding the safety, quality, and performance of Magicshine's lithium-ion battery packs sold by Geomangear between July 2009 and November 2010. Not sure what this means yet but I'll be watching out for more information. I used mine with no problems last night to ride some gravel.
Bikerumor says stop using...

Looks like most of the comments I see there refer to failure rather than a safety issue.

Hmm...I've was considering the purchase of one. Guess I'll wait. Sounds like the batteries stop working after a month/fall apart after use. At least they'll recall and send you a replacement, hopefully in the future.

From what i read on mtbr, several batteries have caught fire and caused damage. Those that are still using said to charge them in a metal bucket in case of fire. Kinda stinks, i was going to get one too...

Who is Stratomatic?

My photo
Stratomatica - is my blog place where I document things happening around me or that interest me. The name Strata, geologically speaking, are layers of sedimentary rock or soil with internally consistent characteristics that distinguish it from other layers. Too deep? Well, I like guitars. Mostly I like the sound and feel of Stratocasters.
